Our services –Surface treatment

Pavestech technical Information document Number PTID/27 states:

“In United States /../ inadequate highway conditions contribute to 10,000 of the 43,000 annual /../ fatilities. /.../ Research has shown that increasing the texture depth from 0.3 mm to 1.5 mm reduces the accident rate by 50%.”

Reasons for surface treatment:

  • Surface cleaning; new surfaces
    • Removal of film on new concrete
    • Removal of “oily” bitumen (fresh asphalt pavement)
  • Skid property improvement on slippery pavement areas (highway entrances and exits, bridges and worn out asphalt pavement)

Most European countries have defined standards for skid properties on roads, which are continuously measured and must be maintained by the highway departments.

Our 2.20 m working width gives a superior efficiency for surface treatment, such as cleaning and/or improving skid properties for pavements.
